Just a few days back we had seen
how Apple fortunes have begun to change in India with the company
achieving over 400% of growth rate in India in last 2-3 months. Apple
has been able to boost its sales in India considerably by employing
aggressive sales strategies. It is mostly through easy EMI payment
options Apple has been able to increase the sale of its products in
India in fourfolds. Apple's EMI payment options backed up by an
aggressive advertising blitzkrieg has done wonders for the company.
Now,
Samsung is seen following similar strategy to counter attack Apple by
launching a mega advertisement campaign and reintroducing EMI scheme for
its high-end phones. As per a quote Asim Warsi, vice-president at
Samsung Mobile -
We sense a strong interest amongst consumers for our high-end devices and based on our learnings from last year, we have re-introduced the EMI scheme for our bouquet of Galaxy devices.
Samsung
EMI plan covers popular models such as Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Grand,
Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Camera. As per Himanshu Chakrawarti, CEO at Essar
Group's The Mobile Store, the country's largest cellphone retailer with
800 stores -
Unlike Apple, the Samsung EMI scheme will cover much wider sales network including the neighborhood mobile phone retail stores, and hence the impact is surely going to be big.
Samsung
has planned to extend its marketing campaign for more than a month, to
the digital media and inside retail stores. The new campaign has made
Galaxy Note II match the EMI payment of iPhone 5. The iPhone 5
is available at a down payment of Rs 16,990 and EMI of Rs 2,376 for 12
months while the Galaxy Note II is sold for 12 EMIs of Rs 2,999. Samsung
has started its first ever EMI campaign with the launch of its Galaxy
S3 handset last September in 2012.
Well,
the fight between Apple and Samsung is getting fiercer day by day where
one would still feel that Samsung has an edge over Apple..!
