Apple iPhone 5S and iPad 5 Launch During Apple Special Event in June

Apple is completing 6 years of its iPhone on Jun 29th, 2013. Apple had released its first iPhone on Jun 29th 2007. It was in this year when Steve Jobs had introduced iPhone to the public during a keynote presentation at the Macworld 2007 convention, in San Francisco.

With phenomenal achievement till date, Apple has decided to celebrate these grand 6 years with the launch of iPhone 5S and the iPad 5 on Jun 29th 2013. This has been confirmed through a report published in Gizmorati blog. Apple will be unveiling its iPhone 5S and iPad 5 during a special event called ‘Original Passion, New Ideas’, on June 29, 2013. The even is intended to celebrate six years from the launch of the original iPhone, under the leadership of Steve Jobs and the release of the iPhone 5S and iPad 5, under the leadership of Apple’s current CEO, Tim Cook.

The special event will be held at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Apple Cheaper iPhone Price Disclosed

Is Apple working on a cheaper iPhone? Well, maybe yes. Though the cheaper iPhone from Apple is yet to confirmed, we have this report coming from Japanese blog, Macotakara that Apple is keeping the pricing of its cheaper iPhone to $330.

The report also says that the build quality of the cheaper iPhone will not be the same as what we have been seeing with the existing apple phones. The cheaper version of the apple iPhone will come with a polycarbonate body instead of glass and aluminum in the body casing. Polycarbonate body was used with the earlier versions of MacBook but now it is discontinued.

The polycarbonate material to be used with cheaper iPhone is glossy and is likely to make the rumored cheaper iPhone thicker and sturdier than iPhone 5.

Well, the pricing of the cheaper looks good to me. Only question we have now - Is Apple really working on the same? Are we really going to see cheaper iPhones from Apple in future?

Price cuts for Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in India

Good news for Samsung phone buyers in India. Two of the Samsung's most popular smartphones, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 are getting price cuts here in India. Now, both the smartphones are available at a price much lower than their official cost.

Samsung Galaxy S3 16GB is now available at Rs 29,480 while at some places, the same is available ar Rs 27,499. The phone was launched officially in May2012 at the price tag of Rs.43,000 and from then till date, it has been one of the top sellers in smartphones. Over 30 million Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphones have been sold till date. The last price cut for Galaxy S3 was made in Dec2012.

One the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is now available at Rs 35,600 while it was originally launched at a price tag of Rs 39,900. Some online retailers are retailing the device for Rs 34,900. No doubt, Note 2 is another successful Android device from Samsung. Within two months of its launch, Note 2 sales rose to 5 million mark worldwide...an amazing feat !!

A question comes to the mind - Why price cuts from Samsung all of a sudden?

One of the major reasons for the same is the sudden spurt in the sales of Apple products in India. Apple fetched a sale of over 300% in last 3 months in India which is what could be a matter of concern for Samsung and other mobile vendors in India. Apple is getting aggressive with its extensive advertising and marketing campaign for its iPhone and has started selling its iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 with EMI options thus making it a lot easier for people to buy the same.

Apple is also planning to launch iPhone 5S in the middle of this year....that could really heat up the competition...!!

Leaked First Images of Apple iPhone 5S

Here are the first leaks of upcoming Apple iPhone 5S. These leaks were posted on a blog on Chinese website Zol.com.cn and are allegedly taken from a Foxconn plant. These images look quite good but are not very detailed.

From these leaked images, you can get both front and rear view of the upcoming iPhone 5S thus make a rough idea of the Apple iPhone 5S. Looks as if there isn't any major change with the Apple's existing design. The same design is likely to continue with the iPhone 5S.

Apple iPhone 6 Spotted along with iPhone 5S

Just a few days back, I had a post on upcoming iPhone 6. Now going back to the same...we have this latest news that this iPhone 6 could be the real thing from Apple. Upcoming iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 were spotted for the first time at the facility of an Apple supplier.

Both iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 were spotted by Old Yao, a chinese user who said that one of his friends who works with an iPhone supplier saw both these phone models there. Yao has mentioned the details of the same on his own microblogging site. As per him, the iPhone 5S is pretty similar to iPhone 5 while the iPhone 6 is more longer, wider and thinner. Both these phones would be launched this year.

The iPhone 6 rumor now looks to be true. As per the Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst with KGI Securities has quoted earlier about iPhone 6 -
Apple is working on an iPhone 5 successor that will have new features like snappier processor, fingerprint sensor, better camera and more powerful LED flash. The second iPhone will be cheaper and will be same as iPhone 5 but will be a little stockier. Instead of the aluminium body and waistline of 7.6mm, the cheaper iPhone will have a plastic casing and measure 8.2mm around the sides. The device will be available in six colours.
Well, too much and too early. Let us keep our fingers crossed !!

Apple iPhone 5S with 13MP Camera Planned For July Launch

Just a few days back, I had posted an article on upcoming Apple iphones in 2013. Apple is planning to launch three iPhones this year. One of them being iPhone 5S. As per a recent report published on iLounge, Apple's new iPhone 5S will have new features like snappier processor, fingerprint sensor, better camera and more powerful LED flash. In 2012, Apple had acquired Authentec, one of the dealers of fingerprint sensor technology.

Apple iPhone 5S and other likely upcoming cheaper iPhones from Apple will be very much like iPhone 5 with little modifications. These phones will have a plastic casing and measure 8.2mm around the sides which is different than the present iPhone 5 which has aluminium body and waistline of 7.6mm. Also, these new phones will come in atleast 6 colors something which we have never seen till date from Apple. Regarding camera, the upcoming phone may have Sony's 13MP unit and two prototypes under development are named N51 and N53.

Well, I think we will have to wait and watch before these things turn out to be real. No doubt, Apple has been facing low demand for iPhone 5 to which CEO Tim Cook quoted -
The supply chain is very complex and we have multiple sources for things. Yields can vary, supplier performance can vary. There is an inordinate long list of things that can make any single data point not a great proxy for what is going on.

Hope things will get much better for Apple with these new developments..!

Apple Launching 3 New iPhones in 2013 - One Named iPhone Math

This is again an interesting piece of news I came across on the internet today. As a per a latest report, we may see at least three varieties of iPhone in 2013. And one of the phones could be named "i-Phone Math". i-Phone Math would feature a 4.8-inch screen and an 8-megapixel camera as per the published report. More accurate details related to the Apple's new iPhone announcement report can be read here - https://www.brightwire.com/news/261748-suppliers-apple-to-announce-iphone-5s-and-iphone-math-by-end-of-june

The report also says that Apple will release the 4-inch iPhone 5S and 4.8-inch iPhone Math before the end of June, while a third, mystery iPhone - with a 12-megapixel camera - will hit the market by year's end.

Well, I don't know if its true or not. I am more shocked with the fact that Apple has chosen such a weird name i-Phone Math for one of the iPhones it is planning to launch this year. iPhone Math doesn't sound so cool to me. Anyways, I am looking forward to these next series of iPhone from Apple. I think Apple is doing a great job with the launch of these new varieties of iPhone. It would certainly help Apple to branch out into emerging markets and reap bigger benefits in the long run. Also, I feel that Apple has failed badly against Samsung in recent times and so it is the right time for Apple to rethink and workout on new strategies to beat Samsung, which has rose to become the biggest mobile phone maker in the world. As compared to Apple which has a very basic very simple line of iPhones, Samsung on the other hand has a cell phone in every size, color, and flavor - A major reason why Samsung is on the top at present !

Hopefully, Apple's upcoming iPhones will change its fortunes. Let us wait and watch !

Apple iPhone 5 Demand Getting Weaker

Apple iPhone 5 demand is getting weaker. It has been below than expected. And this is why Apple has decided to cut short on it order with suppliers of LCD panels for the iPhone 5 in the current quarter. Apple is reducing initial order of 65 million units in the quarter by telling its suppliers Japan Display, Sharp and South Korean company LG Display to cut down on the supplies.

As per a report from WSJ
Apple's orders for screens for the January-March quarter, for example, have dropped to roughly half of what it had previously planned to order, two of the people said. The U.S. company has also cut orders for components other than screens, according to one of the people.
Well, blame it on global economic slowdown or the pricing factor, I think it is more than that.  First, I have to say that iPhone 5 is lacking innovations. It is same as its predecessor iPhone 4S with few minor design changes. No doubt, iPhone 5 still is a wonderful gadget but unfortunately, people want to see something more and exciting. Also, as always...pricing remains the single biggest concern with apple phones and iPhone 5 is not an exception..especially if you are to sale it here in the countries like India, etc..

No Plans for Cheaper iPhone - Apple Executive

Just a few days back, I had mentioned in one of my posts that Apple was working on cheaper phones and it could be launched later in 2013. But now, it seems Apple has no such plans. Recently in  a Chinese-Language Daily, the Shanghai Evening News, it was confirmed by Phil Schiller that Apple has no such plans to launch cheap iPhones to target Asian market. Phil Schiller is the AppleSenior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. Below is what he quoted -
"At first, non-smartphones were popular in the Chinese market, now cheap smartphones are more popular and non-smartphones are out. "Despite the popularity of cheap smartphones, this will never be the future of Apple's products. In fact, although Apple's market share of smartphones is just about 20 percent, we own the 75 percent of the profit."
Phil also made it clear that cheaper phones could severely affect Apple's industry-leading profit margins.

Well, I am unhappy over what Phil has said. I think we will have to wait for long before we can see more affordable cheaper Apple phones especially in the Asian market !

Gold Studded Apple iPhone, iPad, MacBook in $30K

How about MacBook studded with Gold? A company in UK by the name of Computer Choppers is dealing in the same. Just spend $30000 and take away 24-carat gold-plated MacBook Pro with an Apple logo that features multi-color diamonds. Amazing...Isn't it? The company also offers to cover your Apple product in white, rose and yellow gold, as well as copper, black and silver chrome.

As per Alex Wiley, the company's co-founder, customers buying apple iMac, an iPad, a tablet of some sort can strip it down to bare metal which later can be engraved or personalized and finally  plated with 24-karat gold. Computer Choppers provide custom engravings, custom logos and 'diamond accents on the unibody chassis,' they it reassembles the product and sends it off to the customer. And this is not just only for the apple products, if the price is right...the company would coat anything from Nintendo game controllers to iPhones and BlackBerry smartphones.

Computer Choppers are based in US but most of the orders are shipped internationally.

I just wished if we had any similar service here in India..!!

Apple iPhone mini Planned for Indian and Chinese Markets

Seems that Apple is not in a mood to rest anymore. The recent report or maybe a rumor says that Apple is planning to launch different variants of iPhone to counter growing competition from cheap cellphones makers like Samsung especially in the growing markets of India and China. iPhone variants being most talked here is the mini version of iPhone which people are naming as "iPhone mini".

As the name suggest, iPhone mini is likely to be the smaller than the original sized iPhone. Also, its pricing will be far lesser than the original iPhone. With iPhone mini, Apple is looking to grab market share by targeting demand from users of lower-end smartphones especially in India and China.

As per Brian J White, a researcher at Topeka Capital Markets...Apple's next iPhone being said as iPhone 5S will be launched in in May or June, 2013. This modified version will offer more options in screen sizes which in turn would pave the way for iPad mini.

Some people are also saying that iPhone mini will not launch before 2014. Reason as stated is the growing number of mobile prepaid users who cannot afford Apple iPhone in the coming three years.

Well, 2014 looks to be a long time. But hopefully....we will see it from Apple..!

Is Apple iPhone 6 in the making ?

Is Apple working on iPhone 6 ? Maybe Yes! As per one latest report published on the technology website thenextweb.com, Apple seems to be working upon iPhone 6 which will run on iOS 7.

An iOS developer at Apple's Cupertino campus came to know about this when a device named "iPhone 6,1" was seen making requests from an IP address. The developer was quick to guess that apple software and app development team was testing out some apps on the new device.

It is also believed that Apple could be launching the new iPhone 6 in the middle of 2013.

Well, true or not but I cannot wait any longer for the same. This should really be a great development and hopefully this time, we might some see something different and exciting from the big Apple !

Cycloramic - Amazing iPhone 5 App for Handsfree Video Shooting

Lots many apps are available for iPhone. I just happened to come across this particular app named Cycloramic. Cycloramic is one of the most amazing apps I have ever seen till date. Cycloramic is an app developed especially for iPhone 5. The unique and the most amazing thing about this app is the way it works. Cycloramic lets you free from shooting any video manually. In other words, Cycloramic rotates your iPhone 5 automatically so that it can shoot videos handsfree! Video shooting currently works only with iPhone 5. iPhone 4/4s does not support this app.

Cycloramic uses the vibrate function to steadily rotate the phone while it stands on its end, creating a 360-degree video panorama in the process. The app has been developed by Bruno and Rebecca Francois, an Anglo-French couple who live in the US. As per them, Cycloramic works best with iPhone 5 it has a different vibration motor compared with previous models.

iPhone 5 users can purchase this app from itunes store here -

iPhone 5 Creates Record in China With 2 Million Sales in Opening Weekend

The iPhone 5 was launched in China the last week and as per the latest report, iPhone 5 made a record sales of 2 million units in its opening weekend. A statement was released by Apple about the same in which Tim Cook described the same as

Customer response to iPhone 5 in China has been incredible, setting a new record with the best first weekend sales ever in China. China is a very important market for us and customers there cannot wait to get their hands on Apple products.”

Indeed China is a big market for Apple but yes the company seems to be getting stiff competition from Android, currently the biggest threat to Apple. Android-powered devices are eating up the growing smartphone market in China but the recent love shown by Apple fans in China shows that Apple is still going strong in China. Apple is presently trying hard to increase its reach in China by partnering with China Mobile - the world’s largest carrier with more than 700 million customers.

China is next only to the US in terms of revenue generation for Apple. Apple has also planned to launch iPhone 5 in the 50 new markets of China to speed up its phenomenal growth.

Apart from China, iPhone 5 was also launched in other countries on last friday. Below is a list of those countries -

Albania, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Ecuador, Grenada, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Jordan, Kuwait, Macedonia Malaysia, Moldova, Montenegro, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.

And below is a list of countries where the iPhone 5 is scheduled to be launched on Dec21-

Barbados, Botswana, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Egypt, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St.Vincent & the Grenadines, Tunisia, Uganda and Vietnam.

This launch of iPhone 5 from Apple has been the most aggressive one with Apple making it sure that iPhone reaches to atleast 100 countries in just 3 months. And Apple seems to have done it !!
