Apple has made some significant reduction in the prices of its MacBook range of laptops. As per the latest report, 13 inch Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display is now priced at $1,499 while the 13-inch MacBook Air laptop is now available at $1,299 with 256 gigabytes of flash memory. The 13 inch Apple MacBook Pro now is also available with a new 2.6 gigahertz processor, 256 gigabytes flash memory version at a price of $1,699.

Also, there is a news that Apple 15-inch MacBook Pro has been upgraded with a faster 2.4 gigahertz quad-core processor and the top-end 15-inch notebook with a new 2.7 gigahertz quad-core processor and 16GB of memory.

The reduced pricing from Apple is seen with the dismal looking sales of Macbook in the holiday quarter. One of the major reasons for the same is the growing popularity of Apple iPad which has looked to be a good alternative to MacBooks though not as as versatile as the MacBooks.

Good news for MacBook fans. Apple is revising MacBook Air and Pro. The revised MacBook will be available from June 2013. The report about Macbook revisions was disclosed in the digitimes. Apple is already working upon the new revised editions for MacBook. Just five months back, Apple had launched the 13-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina display and all-flash storage in a new design. Measuring 0.75 inches and weighing 1.6 Kg, the 13-inch MacBook Pro is 20 percent thinner, and almost 500 gm lighter than the earlier MacBook Pro.

As per the digitimes report, there won't be any design changes in the upcoming MacBook Air except a new processor platform. It is also believed that prior to the new release, Apple will reduce the price of MacBook Air. Ultrabooks buyers then have the option of buying these low priced MacBook.
